Description

The section of the office building of JSC «Achimgaz» is located at the address: Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, the municipal entity of Urengoy, the Raduzhny microdistrict, the Seventieth Anniversary Street of October.

The climate of the region is sharply continental. Winter is severe and cold, summers are short and warm. Short transition periods — spring and autumn, especially spring (26 days).

The main entrance group faces east and north, to the park area and parking lot, with the expectation that in the morning hours it will be flooded with sunlight. The area in front of the main entrance is protected from atmospheric precipitation by a glass canopy.

Design Concept

The office building is a monumental cube, located on a cone-shaped basement, in which all the infrastructure facilities that provide the vital functions of the center are located. The basement resembles a pedestal for monuments, and by this it gives the cubic volume of the building a heroic scale. The strict grey colour of the facing stone further emphasises the monumentality of the building.

The round area of the stylobate in the zone of the entrance group has a deep cutout, which helps to emphasise and give expressiveness to the main entrance to the building.

The center of the architectural composition of the internal space of the building is the atrium, which simultaneously solves several problems:

• is a recreation area for employees (climatic conditions limit the use of the park area for relaxation and restoration of serviceability);
• ensures the penetration of natural light into office premises, helps to effectively use the useful area of the office center and saves electricity;
• connects the exterior and interior, improves and improves the quality of the environment and microclimate, positively affects the performance of staff.

The facade uses 20 mm thick natural stone basalt rocks, surface treatment plates, fine grinding and artificial ageing. The stone is derived from the Republic of Armenia. The colour of the stone with fine grinding is cold grey, which is typical for this species, but warm beige spots appear while ageing.
