This 120-bed state hospital beds is located at the entrance to Stepanakert, the Republic of Artsakh. The building massing consists of a circular shape with a round, central courtyard, combining several departments (hospital, reception, station, ambulance, dialysis, therapeutic, and surgical departments) in a harmonious manner. In addition, the hospital features a passageway to its second-storey programming, including an intensive care and operating units, administration, a public area, an outpatient clinic for 450 visits, and other hospital departments.

The task was to ensure a complementary balance between the building’s architectural form, spatial design, and the hospital’s functional requirements. While this was the internal task, the goal of the exterior of the building was to correspond to its surrounding urban character.

This design was awarded the “Best Project of The Year” by the Republican Review of Architectural Works in 2008.
